My friend Nathan, that is. He turned 40 on Monday, September 10th. So I made him a special birthday card. He loves bright colors, so I made it as bright and manly as possible. And in case you are wondering; he is a child at heart and likes the little raccoon guy. We had an awesome day celebrating his birthday. I am so blessed to have him in my life.
Creative Details: I had fun making this card. I made a template for the "40" in Publisher and cut it out of Real Red CS. I stamped the back ground stamp (Linograph) and then used my opaque white pen to enhance the dots in the stamped image. I used images from the Hip Hip Hooray set to make the background and elements on the card. I used the beautiful In-Colors stitched ribbon and a little double swirly clip. There is Stickles glitter glue on the present, cupcake and raccoon's button.
My name is Melissa and I love playing with rubber, paper, and ink. I am always "buggin' 2 stamp". Hence the title of my blog.

Doodly Doo Da Da!
I love, love, love this set and these colors. The other day I was experimenting with Chocolate Chip and Vanilla; and added some Cranberry Crisp. A friend suggested using Cool Carribean with the Chocolate/Vanilla combo. I was home due to snow today and had some fun playing. I actually made two more cards before this one from the same color theme. But this is my favorite. I love the Doodle This set (available next month from Stampin' Up!©). I also used the new tab punch that will be available next month from Stampin' Up!© I stamped 'joy' from Every Day Flexible Phrases on the tab. I used watercolor paper for the flower and the 'joy' tab. I dyed the ribbon with my Cool Carribean pad. I also watercolored the flowers on the doodles in the background. I sponged everything with Chocolate Chip, especially the pink flower to tone it down. I wish they made these flowers in Chocolate. Oh well! I hope you like it.

Did someone say "chocolate"??
So, the new fad apparently is "chocolate". It seems to be popping up everywhere. Some say it's the new "black". Well I always loved browns and vanilla's together. So, I love the new "au chocolate" look. I was playing around with this color scheme last night and thought I should add one other color. I chose Cranberry Crisp. In honor of my least favorite holiday, Valentine's Day, I made some cards with the chocolate theme and a little cranberry mixed in for added richness. I just love the Paisley background stamp from Stampin' Up!©. In the first card, I stamped the background with Chocolate Chip on Very Vanilla cardstock. I also used Basic Brown to stamp the "LOVE" image and colored it with the Dove blender pen and some ink from my Cranberry Crisp pad. I used a pretty milk chocolate colored prima flower with a dark chocolate button in the middle. I used white hemp and dyed it cranberry with my ink pad. In the second card, I also stamped paisly with Chocolate Chip on Very Vanilla. I cut the hearts out of Chocolate Chip and Cranberry Crisp using a colluzzle template. I used the Word Window punch and small slot punch for the Valentine tag and the slit to attach it. I used another milk chocolate flower and made a faux button with my 1/2" punch and poked holes with an awl to run the aida thread through. I think these colors look wonderful together. Hope you enjoy. I think I need to have some chocolate now.
